Client consultancies are being held for an analysis of the procedures and the restructuring method needed for a quarry near the town of Košice, and its subsequent acquisition. The quarry, which is located near the village of Nižný Klátov, was used in the past to mine 40-60 thousand tonnes of high quality amphibolite. Due to the implementation of traffic restrictions in the village, which has made access to the quarry complicated, the production is currently suspended.
The quarry has all the key factors necessary for it to succeed – a great location and a large deposit of high quality construction aggregate. Cooperation with the quarry of BLUE SKY MINING, s.r.o. will also result in synergies in the form of a better negotiating position with customers, more efficient use of technology (drilling and crushing machinery) and a wider product range. Within the project, SHIFT a.s. holds the position of a restructuring consultant and also figures as one of the potential investors.

The company is a “start-up” initiative in the field of mining and the processing of construction aggregate. An andesite quarry is located between the towns of Košice and Prešov. Its current annual capacity is from 100 to 150 thousand tonnes of construction aggregate, scalable up to 300 thousand tonnes. The technology employed is partly their own and partly rented.
Our involvement with the company is based on expected growth in the demand in the region. The Košice-Prešov agglomeration has the second largest sales potential for construction materials after Bratislava. Another factor is the proximity of the quarry to the markets, which is absolutely necessary for success in terms of providing products with a low price per kilogram.
